Samuel Spraggins, DDS, brings more than 25 years in general and preventive dentistry experience to Healthy Smiles Dental Care located in Manchester, Chelsea, Flint, Lansing, Barton City, and Muskegon, Michigan.
Dr. Spraggins began his professional education at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell where he earned his associate’s degree. There, Dr. Spraggins earned the rank of captain and served as the headquarters troop commander. He also played in the regimental marching and concert bands and earned the Harry Morrison Trophy, an award given to the troop, which as a unit displays military and academic excellence.
After graduation, Dr. Spraggins enrolled at Wayne State University in Detroit where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in biology and also served as a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
The following year Dr. Spraggins decided to further his education and enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor. Dr. Spraggins excelled in the program and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. During his time in Ann Arbor, Dr. Spraggins was also a member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and the Black Dental Students Association. He also participated in the migrant worker children’s dental unit in Traverse City, Michigan, treating the children of migrant workers.
Dr. Spraggins subsequently entered private practice and has served communities throughout Michigan since. He welcomes any man or woman seeking comprehensive oral health care to Healthy Smiles Dental Care.
